Revised for 2020. Join us for our second visit to the Wey & Arun canal, this time with a stop in Dorking on the return journey. We will travel direct to the canal for an approximate 2 hour cruise. The boat will cruise along the idyllic Loxwood Link section of the canal on the Surrey/West Sussex border. In the 19th century it was possible to travel by boat from London to Littlehampton, and part of the route was via the rivers Wey and Arun, which we will experience today. Although only one part of an extensive system, the Wey and Arun Canal formed a vital link, the only one between the south coast and the Thames, linking London and the busy river Thames with the English Channel – and beyond. After boat trip we will visit the Onslow Arms pub where we will have freshly prepared cream teas with tea, coffee and lovely warm scones to enjoy, On route home we will stop at the historic town of Dorking. There will be time to wander the shops and have a look around this pretty little town and maybe even grab a coffee, then relax for the journey home.
