It’s that time of year again when love is in the air and couples around the UK are starting to plan a few Valentine’s Day surprises. If you’re looking to plan a London coach trip with your other half or even celebrate the festival of love with friends, family or loved ones, there are some great places in the capital to head to on your day out. Here are some of London’s most romantic spots to check out.
Enjoy Spectacular Views
One of the best ways to make a romantic trip epic is to enjoy some of the fantastic views on offer across the city. This includes rooftop bars (check they’re open if heading there in colder months), restaurants in tall buildings such as The Shard or even hotspots such as Primrose Hill. The latter provides one of the best expansive views of the city skyline, including Canary Wharf. Don’t forget about popular things to do such as The London Eye or The View from The Shard, but book beforehand to avoid disappointment.
Take a Romantic Stroll
If you want to spend some quality time with your loved ones, taking a stroll in amongst some of London’s most romantic settings is a lovely idea. If you fancy a riverside walk, you can’t beat a stroll along Little Venice’s tree-lined canals. Hampstead Heath is also a popular spot for a wander, combining large open areas and those to seek out, such as The Hill Garden and Pergola. If you’re heading to one of London’s parks, don’t forget about some of the other activities on offer too, including the swan pedalos in Hyde Park.
Romantic Architecture & Statues
Why not plan a fun love-themed day around some of the romantic architecture in the city? This includes visiting the Eros Statue in Piccadilly, The Meeting Place bronze statue (nicknamed The Lovers) in St Pancras railway station or the Young Lover’s statue outside St Paul’s Cathedral.
Head to a Wine Bar or Restaurant
Do your research and look for some of London’s most intimate wine bars and restaurants. If going on Valentine’s Day, it’s essential to book if possible, as it will often be one of the busiest evenings of the year for this type of establishment. For something a little different, book a sunset cruise along the River Thames, where you can enjoy romantic views of the buildings lining the river, while eating canapes and sipping on champagne.
Plan an Overnight Stay
Even if you’re travelling as a group, you may like to plan a weekend or overnight stay in the capital. This could involve dinner at a romantic restaurant, seeing a show and checking into one of London’s beautiful hotels. You can arrange to be dropped off and picked up on separate days – just speak to your coach or minibus hire company to work out the details.
